This guide is general information, not legal advice. Rental rules, fees and procedures can change. Use current Dubai Land Department channels and obtain professional advice for your circumstances.

A practical sequence

01

Set the full housing budget

Consider annual rent alongside deposits, agency fees, utilities, moving costs, furnishings, parking and any contractually agreed charges.

02

Verify the property and representative

Confirm that the property, landlord or authorized representative and broker details match the documents presented. Avoid transferring money based only on messages or advertising.

03

Read the tenancy contract

Check the term, payment schedule, renewal and notice provisions, maintenance responsibilities, permitted use and any additional terms before signing.

04

Register through approved channels

The Dubai Land Department identifies Dubai REST, approved trustee centres and the Ejari system as official channels depending on the applicant and property circumstances.

05

Keep a complete record

Retain the signed contract, payment evidence, condition records, correspondence and the issued Ejari certificate. Use official DLD tools for current rental information.
